Experts in sustainable building renovation from Slovenia, Portugal and the Netherlands have joined forces in a pan-European project on the theme of sustainable heritage, supported by EIT Climate-KIC. The project contributes to motivating stakeholders for sustainable renovation of existing buildings, with an emphasis on older buildings, where renovation is usually more complex. With this aim, the "Green Menu" platform was enriched during the project, which represents an extensive collection of online tools where users can find relevant information on how to make their homes more sustainable, including technical solutions, financial support and in accordance with existing regulations. Useful calculators for investments and savings are also available. This tool has been available in an expanded form for some time in the Netherlands, where it is successfully used to support the renovation of older buildings at both national and local levels.
Achieving a healthy living environment, climate neutrality of the housing stock and stimulation of the green economy are key milestones for fulfilling the development ambitions and goals of Slovenia, as well as Europe. The Covid-19 crisis has further demonstrated the importance of investing in more sustainable and sustainable socio-economic solutions and in a healthy living and living environment.
