BB-Clean – Strategic tools for the sustainable use of biomass with the aim of reducing pollution from small combustion plants.

The main goal of the project is the development of transnational policies for the sustainable use of biomass for home heating in order to reduce negative impacts and improve its smart use in Alpine regions (AR). The project will focus on innovative and interactive approaches to raise awareness among citizens and local communities about critical aspects related to biomass burning and on defining strategic technological, economic and regulatory tools to reduce the impact of biomass burning in alpine valleys. Innovative sustainable business models will ensure the long-term success of established solutions. Joint policy guidance documents will be created, which will represent harmonized regulations for the sustainable use of biomass in AR. The integrated cooperation of partners from 6 countries of the Alpine area and the network of observers will contribute to significant behavioral, technological, environmental and regulatory changes in the area of the Alpine area and at the EU level, since there are no common regulations for small biomass plants.
