CASCO Smart low-carbon communities

The main purpose of the project is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the Alps.

The project pursues two main goals:

  1. the development and implementation of low-carbon international policy instruments for the supply of wood products with a low carbon footprint, and
  2. create a closed circle of regional added value and capitalization of low-carbon wood products by promoting their involvement in policies, public authorities and other key actors such as architects.

The specific results of the project will be:

  1. develop a policy framework for the inclusion of low-carbon wood products in public procurement.
  2. mainstreaming these policies into the various communities within the program area.
  3. Improved international operational framework and supporting tools for low carbon policies.
  4. strengthening of SMP value chains and improved availability of low-carbon wood to meet increased public demand.
