Central Europe has great potential for introducing local and regional energy systems based on the use of renewable energy sources and energy saving, and it is important that incentives that improve energy efficiency approaches are initiated from the bottom up. Special attention is devoted to improving the energy efficiency of existing buildings, as they are a large consumer of electricity with an annual growth rate of around 4 percent. Reducing energy consumption in existing public buildings without major construction works is one of the main challenges for the public sector.
Therefore, the public sector needs simple but useful tools and methodology for proper energy management. The aim of the project is to improve energy-efficient management in existing public buildings and to reduce energy consumption in participating European regions, especially those that are making less progress towards the goals of a low-carbon society. For this purpose, the OnePlace platform will be developed as part of the project, which will enable the transfer of knowledge to other European regions as well. Through the development and implementation of a 3D system for energy management and the implementation of pilot projects, the project will demonstrate an innovative approach to the energy control of buildings.
