Planning energy efficiency measures in small businesses (CAESAR project)
The aim of the CAESAR project is to address the potential of energy savings in small Alpine companies by providing designed tools and solutions to companies, energy mentors and energy agencies. The network creates and cultivates a cross-sectoral, transnational platform for energy efficiency in companies through which best practices and experiences are exchanged. It establishes a benchmarking model for energy efficiency that defines and measures performance for major economic activities. The target groups are primarily small Alpine companies and energy auditors, as well as professional associations and independent experts.
The Small Alpine Business Energy Performance Assessment and Improvement Actions Tools provides a proven recipe, ready to use and help small businesses take the step towards successfully implementing an energy efficiency audit. The main output of this action is an Excel-based tool that supports the step-by-step implementation of energy audits.
The implementation of effective energy efficiency measures in companies is a key element in achieving the European energy and climate goals by 2030, as companies account for approximately one third of European energy consumption. Improving energy efficiency in companies therefore significantly contributes to the decarbonisation of the European economy and the achievement of climate goals, while at the same time increasing competitiveness and reducing costs.
