CITY OF SEHNDE, LOWER SAXONY, GERMANY

With more than 60 measures, the small town of Sehnde is reducing energy consumption costs with energy-saving contracting in eleven municipal buildings by 30 percent. Among other things, the contractor replaced old boilers with modern condensing technology, insulated the top floors in five buildings and put a new combined heat and power plant into operation in a school.

During the 14-year contract period, the city of Sehnde will receive a savings allowance of 9,000 euros per year, after which it will benefit from the entire savings.
