Every year, millions of usable products are discarded across the EU, generating huge amounts of waste, CO₂ emissions, and financial loss for consumers. Repairing rather than replacing can reduce waste, save consumers money, and lower environmental impacts — but it’s not yet the norm. The REPper project is changing that.

At the Euroconsumers Forum 2024, a project video will illustrate this vision: a vibrant culture of skilled repairers, community workshops, and events like Marseille’s Festival of Repair — where music and food created space for conversation and change.
Speakers at EC forum will highlight that affordable, accessible repair needs support at every level — from making spare parts VAT-free to ensuring policy like the new Repair Directive (2024/1799) is backed by tools, incentives, and infrastructure.
By making repair the easy, smart choice, REPper is helping extend the life of products — and reshaping our throwaway culture into one of sustainability and inclusion.
